2     Broncos Reunion – Friday 5 February 10 -

Gooday 2010 already!    What a great way to start the New Year.   Dinner with some mates at the Broncos all you can eat seafood buffet spectacular.

We have reserved a table for 10 on the Terrace to provide you with an exclusive area to chat and relax       Looking forward to seeing you there.      Details are:

The Reunion Dates are: - 5 February, 16 April  Easter is early this year on 2/4/10, 12 June (Saturday Mixed – Restaurant to be advised), 6 August, 8 October (Tatt’s Lunch), 27 November  (Saturday Mixed Christmas Reunion 6:00 for 7:00pm) + NCOBA Memorial College Mass & Breakfast 7:30am

  1. Our NC62 50th Reunion Book

Towards the end of 2009 Jim Wheatley and Bob Nash asked you to return a Questionnaire / Form forms etc to gather updated information on our classmates and on you for our NC62 50th Reunion Book. You have been busy or not taken it seriously, perhaps, but others are putting in a lot of effort and depending on you to return the information. Your details are important to the outcome.

Blair Oswald, the only published fiction author in the class, has published a book. Here’s your chance to feature in a book. Could you please complete and send or phone / e-mail and complete with Jim or Bob on the spot.

3.    NCOBA Memorial Mass & Breakfast          - 27 November 10

The Nudgee Chapel was full as usual for this event. The sermons, readings, mentioning of those departed in 2009 be student Prefects, and the singing were moving and inspiring. NC62s there were John McCormack, Adrian Crowe, Peter Palmer, Jim Wheatley and Jim and John Kelly. The breakfast was buffet style

4.    Avanti Christmas Reunion                       27 November 10

At the Avanti Café & Pasta Restaurant, 63 Macgregor Tce, Bardon.      It was a terrific evening and all said the food was excellent.  Present were John and Carolyn Cloake, Adrian and Beverley Crowe, Barney Davoren, Daryl Dwyer (Margaret was ill and couldn’t come at the last minute), Leo and Dell Freney, Neil and Cathy Gottardo, Dallas and Lyn Graham, Peter Grehan, John and Margaret Howard, Robert and Patricia Ingham-Myers, Jim & Sophie, John, Kevin & Eileen Kelly, Bob and Carolyn Kretchmann, Dave and Veronica McCarthy, John and Joyce McCormack, John Murray, Bob and Christina Nash, Peter Palmer, Jim Wheatley, and Ian Wood.   A full account including gossip from those there, photos, e-mailed apologies CLICK HERE

    7.   News Snippets                            
John Kelly retired from competitive lawn bowls late last year. He has also traded in his new Mercedes 4X4 for a Toyota Prado diesel 4X4.      Recons he has a real 4X4 now and it’s a beauty.

Dela and Carmel have had their head down hard at it over the New Year “break” getting ready to open a new chemist shop on 18 Jan. No rest for the wicked – they say

John and Joyce McCormack are off to Cairo in early Feb 10, then up the Nile to catch some pyramids, temples, tombs, scenery etc, finishing up with a week in Dubai for the opening of the new Dubai race course. What a great trip.

Jim and Sophie Kelly just completed a New Year road trip out to Goondiwindi, down the Newell Highway to Parkes (The Dish), across to Canberra for 3 days – the French Impressionists at the National Gallery, Parliament House, The War Memorial and Cockington Green on the way to Wood End to visit relies, Through Geelong to Bells Beach, Lorne, the 12 Apostles – less a few - the Great Ocean Road to Portland with milk, cement and a large Wind Power Farm, then to Adelaide to see an aging relie, the sites generally, The Barossa and Hahndorf, Mildura, Hay, Griffith and back to the Newell and home. Bottom line 2 weeks & 5 000 + k.

Grahame Bell visited Brisbane for his Mum’s 90th & looked up Dela & Len McKeering

Len McKeering got a new bigger boat for Christmas. How about an NC62 Reunion on the new boat to properly christen it Len??

Elizabeth Cleary, Peter’s wife, braved the Freezing UK winter to visit their two daughters

Peter Coopers daughter, Emma, visited Dad from Oxford with her two sons
