About the Project
As you may be aware, 2012 marks the 50th Anniversary of our senior year at Nudgee.
Recently a committee was formed to co-ordinate and plan a ‘50th Grand Reunion’ weekend in July 2012. (Proposed date at this stage is 27-28-29 July 2012) The reunion committee will be advising you separately, in due course, of what is planned for this significant reunion.
A proposal has been made to produce a Class of 62 commemorative book to coincide with our 50th Reunion.
Jim Wheatly and Bob Nash have undertaken to compile this commemorative book but they will need your assistance and feedback to help them in this process.
It is early days and the exact nature and content of the book is still being formulated. However, it will be a combination of class history, photos, memorabilia, student memories and anything else that might be considered worthy of being included. This is where we need your help in compiling ‘Our Book’, because it really is, and will be, a book that will belong to ALL of you who make up the Class of 1962.
We need contributions in three areas:-
§ The first is that of memories of events during your time at Nudgee. They can be as short or as long as you like. At the web blog (see below) suggestions and prompters will be exhibited. For those who would rather talk than write we are willing to do some ‘oral’ histories, which would then be typed up and incorporated in the memories section.
§ Secondly we need information for the ‘What happened to them after Nudgee’ section. Attached is a feedback form that has been designed to assist you in providing us with information we can use in compiling Our Book.
§ The third area is that of visual memories so we are also looking for photos and memorabilia. (Any photos etc sent in to us will be scanned and the original copies returned to you ASAP).
As you can appreciate, there needs to be some discretion in determining what will eventually go in Our Book but what is used will be acknowledged.

A web log (http://nc62book.blogspot.com/ ) has been set up to provide you with a central point where you can read of the progress being undertaken in getting Our Book together. You can also leave comments, or words of encouragement, on this site.
We have also set up an Email address (nc62book@gmail.com ) for you to communicate with the co-ordinators. Please fell free to use this Email for anything to do with Our Book.
Finally, we want Our Book to be something that you and your family can appreciate and treasure for years to come. It marks a significant milestone in our lives. Your assistance will go a long way in ensuring that we have the outcome that we would all want.

Newsflash - as at 17/5/12
The next update for our book will be forwarded in early June 2012. This will coincide with the book going to the printer. The Index was completed last week and the compilers feel that it will contain something for everybody. The Update (No. 9) will give details on how to order the book and its cost.
